July 2024 Newsletter
Dues Increase:
Starting August 1, dues will increase $100, so the new payment will be $275 per
month.
Document Changes:
● The board is proposing some changes to our documents.
● When will the changes happen? Everyone will vote on them at the next annual meeting in
January.
● Why are we making changes? To bring the text up to date with current statues, consolidate
old amendments, and make updates we believe benefit our neighborhood.
● When can I learn more? We’ll send information in future monthly newsletters as the annual
meeting approaches. If you’d like more information sooner, please come to our open forum on
July 16th (see below).
Board Open Forum
● Board members are hosting an open forum on July 16 at 6:30pm in the Building 19 basement.
● Come with any of your questions, comments, concerns, or compliments.
Painting Hand-Rails:
● Are you interested in making Sherman Terrace look better? Help us repaint our hand-rails!
● Sunday July 21 10:00am-2:00pm between buildings 25 and 29
● Come for a few minutes or an hour. First couple hours will be scraping and preparing the
railings, later will be for priming and painting. No equipment or experience necessary.
● Contact Nick for questions: [email protected]
Maintenance/Grounds Committee
● Next meeting is Monday July 22 at 6:30pm in the Building 19 basement.
● The mowing schedule is every other week. Last year, it was dry and the grass grew slowly. This
year is wet, so the grass is growing faster.
BIG GARBAGE:
Please put items IN the dumpsters. The garbage drivers do not put it in for you later.
Your neighbors do it. If items are left leaning against the dumpster, the garbage company will not
empty the dumpster. If you have an item that you think a neighbor might be able to use, tell us
via email or the Sherman Terrace Neighborhood Facebook page.
BIKES:
Beginning July 15th, any bicycle deemed clearly abandoned will be removed from the
racks and sent for recycling or donated to charity. Unregistered bicycles on the property have
been tagged with registration forms. Contact: [email protected]
Social Committee
● Next meeting is Saturday July 13 at 10:00am in the Building 19 basement.
● ‘Fourth of July’ Dinner Picnic: Sunday July 7 at 5:00pm in front of Building 19. Please bring a
dish to pass and help us celebrate the summer! Contact: [email protected]
Rules Committee
